In the dynamic field of small business community management, an exciting opportunity awaits as City National Bank is in search of a skilled individual to take on the role of a BUSINESS COMMUNITY MANAGER. This position focuses on the SPECIAL PURPOSE CREDIT PROGRAM for SMALL BUSINESS within PBB COMMUNITY BANKING.

What is the Opportunity?

The role involves building and managing a network of partnerships in the small business communities, including Certified Development Financing Institutions (CDFI) and related non-profit organizations. Responsibilities span from identifying partnership opportunities to executing and implementing them in collaboration with the CRA and MADE (Marketing) departments. This includes local market engagements to enhance the overall Ladder Up Small Business Program. The manager will also play a crucial role in facilitating and originating small business loans within designated geographic areas.

Responsibilities and Key Tasks

The successful candidate will be tasked with solidifying and maintaining a small business community network, coordinating vendor management tasks, and establishing professional relationships with internal partners. They will assess the viability of community partnerships aligning with CNB’s goals, originate and review small business credits, and manage overall client portfolios. Additionally, responsibilities include supporting internal colleagues, conducting routine reporting to PBB leadership, and actively participating in community engagement activities such as webinars and panels.

Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, a minimum of 5+ years of experience in small business lending, underwriting, and credit originations, along with 3+ years of coaching and training experience. A strong background in small business community engagement (CDFI, SBIC, Non-Profit organizations) and over 8 years of overall banking sales experience, predominantly in small business and business banking segments, is essential.

Skills and Knowledge

The ideal candidate should possess strong project management and analytical skills, along with seasoned problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint, is required.
